She is also a huge advocate for the national service movement. In fact, if you are one of her students at Cal Poly and you ask for a letter of recommendation, she will most likely tell you  to come back after doing a year of service. Could national service be a solution to the overwhelming pressure, anxiety and disconnection many young people face? After volunteering there for a few months she applied for the AmeriCorps VISTA positions in order to dedicate a whole year to the organization she loved. Now Breyn leads the Oregon “tribe” of Shakti Rising from the “temple” of Sol Alchemy a yoga studio in Bend, OR.
